Almost Time is a conversational clock application that communicates the time through human-like speech sentences. For example, it will inform you, "It is almost 8 o'clock in the evening," approximately ten minutes prior to the hour. This feature effectively eliminates the need to manually adjust or rely on early or fast-running clocks and watches.

This app addresses a practical need many users may not have explicitly recognized — maintaining awareness of ongoing time and ensuring punctuality. It provides advance notice of upcoming hours, assisting users in managing their schedule with greater accuracy.

Our other applications now incorporate this 'Almost Time' functionality within the Talking Clock app, expanding its utility. These apps continually speak to users in natural language sentences from the background, even when multitasking on their devices—apart from KCOLC, which does not support speech output.

The TALKING CLOCK app features include:

The TALKING CHEF TIMER allows users to set multiple kitchen timers that announce remaining cooking times (e.g., "The tea says two minutes left," "The rice says ten minutes left"). It supports simultaneous timers spoken in various dialects of English (US, British, Indian) with dynamic alerts that increase in frequency as the countdown approaches completion.

TALKING CLOCK 2 offers multilingual support (English, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish) with two voice options per language and distinct hourly alerts. All alerts can indicate the precise hour each time they occur.

The TALKING TIMERS are versatile, multipurpose timers operating on a 24-hour scale. Users can set multiple timers simultaneously for activities such as parking meter monitoring, laundry cycles, feeding routines for infants or pets, workout sessions, or managing departure times. The timers issue spoken alerts with increasing frequency as the end approaches and repeat every 24 hours automatically. They support English (US and British) and various sounds signals.

All these applications—Clock, Timers, and Clock 2—integrate seamlessly with Almost Time. For example:

1. At 5:50 PM — "It is almost 6 o'clock in the afternoon" (from ALMOST app)
2. At 6:00 PM — "It is 6 o'clock" (from CLOCK app)
3. A few seconds later — chimes or cuckoos indicating the hour (from CLOCK 2 app)
4. Continued minute countdowns from TIMER apps

This interconnected operation allows users to customize each application's alerts separately for silent or loud notifications as desired.

The Almost Time app enables precise configuration of how many minutes before each hour it announces the upcoming time — from as few as 10 up to 29 minutes (the CLOCK app’s limit is from 1 to 59 minutes). Once set up, it functions silently in the background, requiring no active management. Designed for continuous operation with minimal impact on battery life.

For an example at eight o'clock: It might audibly say in different accents — "It is almost eight o'clock in the evening" (English US/UK/Australian), "Je skoro osm hodin večer" (Czech), "Néhány perc múlva este nyolc óra lesz" (Hungarian), or output binary signals like high-low-low-low corresponding to the number 8. It may also produce a short beep per hour or vibrate/flash LED indicators depending on device capabilities.

This application is available as a full-featured free version without advertisements, nag screens, network access requirements, data collection, or in-app purchases.
